Mr Ken Sell: Ken is the Head of Aoba-Japan International School (A-JIS) in Tokyo. He has been working in the education sector for over 30 years and is privileged to have led schools in Australia, Norway, China and Japan. Throughout his career, Ken has aimed to create conditions for empowerment. More recently he has been interested in understanding what effective leaders have as they navigate the diversity of cultural and contextual nuances found in international schools. At A-JIS, Ken has been responsible for leading an effective school renewal process that has realised a stable, professional and innovative working environment for teachers. Mr Paul Fradale: Paul is currently the Director of Innovation & Blended Learning at Aoba-Japan International School; previously he was the MYP Coordinator. He is an International Baccalaureate Workshop Leader and Site Visitor, as well as a CIS Site Visitor. A certified science teacher since 1997 and a tech coordinator since 2004, he has taught internationally and in the United States in public and private schools. He looks to integrate curriculum with technology as a tool to meet solid pedagogical goals rather than focusing on tech for tech's sake and strives to support other teachers in their efforts to do the same. He is doctoral candidate with Southern Cross University, and in his free time is rebuilding a 130-year old farmhouse in the Japanese countryside.
